Seeing a black bird with a flash of orange is wonderful to see, although you may not know what kind of bird it is. This article brings you a list of 15 common black and orange birds. American redstart
The male American Redstart as seen above is mainly black with orange patches on its sides, wings and tail. Usually seen flitting around the trees in search of insects.

Red winged blackbird
This lovely blackbird has a dazzle of colour on the top of its wings or shoulders and is known both as Red winged blackbird or red shouldered blackbird. As you can see from the picture above the colour is more orange and then they have a further stripe of yellow. They are similar to the Tri colour blackbird but they have more of a red patch and a white stripe.
